Coat: Three types: Smooth, Long-haired, Wire-haired.

Color: Common colors: Red, Cream, Black & Tan, Chocolate & Tan, Dapple, Brindle.

Life Span: 12 – 16 years.

Temperament

Dachshunds are curious, brave, and playful. They are loyal to their family, alert, and make good watchdogs despite their small size. They can be stubborn but are intelligent and enjoy mental stimulation.

Care Tips

• Protect the Back: Avoid letting them jump from heights or climb stairs frequently to prevent spinal injuries.
• Exercise & Diet: Provide daily moderate walks and a balanced diet to maintain healthy weight and prevent obesity, which can strain their back.
