🐕 Basic Characteristics

Height:
Male: 8 – 10 inches (20 – 25 cm).
Female: 8 – 9 inches (20 – 23 cm).

Female: 4 – 8 lbs (2 – 3.5 kg).

Coat: Long, straight, and silky coat with no undercoat.

Color: Pure white is most common, though slight lemon or tan markings on the ears are acceptable.

Life Span: 12 – 15 years.

Temperament

Maltese are gentle, affectionate, and playful. They thrive on human companionship, making them excellent lap dogs. Despite their small size, they are lively, alert, and enjoy playtime with their families.

Health

Prone to dental problems, luxating patella (knee issues), white dog shaker syndrome, and hypoglycemia in puppies. Regular dental care, grooming, and balanced nutrition are essential for their health.
