Coat: Double coat – dense undercoat with straight, harsh outer coat.
Colors: Red fawn, brindle, sesame, and pure white.
Life Span: Average: 10 – 13 years.
Temperament
- Loyal & Devoted: Famous for their unwavering loyalty (Hachikō story).
- Dignified & Courageous: Calm, confident, and not easily intimidated.
- Protective: Excellent guard dogs, naturally wary of strangers.
- Independent Thinkers: Intelligent but sometimes stubborn; require firm, consistent training.
