Temperament
Belgian Sheepdogs are intelligent, loyal, and protective. They are highly trainable and excel in obedience, agility, and herding activities. They form strong bonds with their families and are good watchdogs. Early socialization is important to ensure they are well-mannered with strangers and other pets.
Health
Belgian Sheepdogs are generally healthy but may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), and epilepsy. Routine veterinary checkups, a balanced diet, and regular exercise are essential for maintaining their long-term health.
Care Tips
- Exercise: Minimum 1–2 hours daily; include running, hiking, and agility training.
- Mental Stimulation: Provide puzzle toys, obedience challenges, and herding exercises to prevent boredom.
